Belgium - Sharing Assets for future-proof organisations
CASE STUDY – LARGE ORGANIZATION WITH MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
The organization concluded that the way they utilized assets was inefficient; location A bought a new machine while location C didn’t use the same machine anymore. Equipment and machinery, like forklifts and milling machines, were bought at one location while standing idle elsewhere. Furniture and office supplies were stored at a location while another location bought new furniture and supplies. Transparency about what assets were available or unused at which locations was missing. This led to unnecessary high expenses and investments in new equipment.
FLOOW2 created an internal sharing market place for the organization, on which all locations can swap, sell and share unused equipment and machinery. The organization is using the platform mainly for advertising offers and requests of machinery and other production equipment. With the internal sharing marketplace, the organization is able to connect locations and to avoid the purchase of new equipment. Hereby more efficient use of assets is ensured, circularity is integrated in daily business, costs are being saved radically and expensive investments are being avoided. Win-Win-Win!
